Robert Marston was drawn to the music world at an early age. During his high school years in the mid to late 70’s he was heavily influenced by the prog rock revolution and spent a good deal of time skipping the high school ball games and proms in favor of honing his skills on bass guitar and hanging out with like minded friends and playing challenging music that no one else wanted to hear. Shortly after high school he broadened his musical horizons and focused on jazz, attending Uof L and Bellarmine for music courses and jazz labs. He played in several different pop / rock cover bands through the 80’s and continues to this day. With a short 4 year run in the mid 90’s with an original band “Edenstreet” that had a publishing deal and thought they were going places. Let’s say that didn’t happen and leave it at that. Now Robert plays keyboards in a local rock & soul horn band called Old School.
Robert has covered several positions at Far Out Music during his 25+ years here. Starting as a substitute for every different dept. on each different day of the week for the first few years then settling into the recording dept. right around the transition from the analog era into the digital age. Then a short stint for 1 year as a product Rep for several music manufacturers. The Rep road life didn’t appeal to Robert so much so he returned to the store about a year and a half later as the service administrator where life has been heavenly ever since.
